Go Local Greatest Hits of the West-End
Go Local took place on 19th July 2013 and was an amazing event to celebrate volunteering which took place in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. And what better place to celebrate all those selfless volunteers who gave up their time last summer to help with the Olympic Games.
West End Greatest Hits was a wonderful mix of all that is exciting, popular and inspirational in Musical Theatre from London's West End. Take Jodie Prenger, winner of the Search for Nancy and star of Oliver subsequently, now a leading actress - Ricardo Afonso - recently seen in The Voice on BBCTV and a former leading man from We Will Rock You and Top Hat - Lauren Samuels - recently playing Sandy in Grease and Scaramouche in We Will Rock You - add 8 of the finest ensemble singers and dancers, a choir from ArtsEd ( the premiere Training ground for Musical Theatre performers). All this fabulous talent has been assembled by Mike Dixon (West End, TV and Radio Musical Director) and Giorgia Barberi (Associate Choreographer for Arlene Philips on We Will Rock You and Flashdance) under the umbrella of End Of The Pier Productions to create a montage that made the audience get up, dance and sing along.
All those involved were honoured to perform at this event which once again, in this extraordinary place of Champions, proves that London and the UK is an amazing place to be.
